Industrial Control Technology (Co-op) [New Brunswick Community College, NBCC]

New Brunswick Community College

Be part of the growing energy industry with our three-year Industrial Control Technology (Co-op) program, which combines classroom and co-op training to give you skills to repair, maintain, calibrate, adjust and install industrial measuring and control equipment. If you’re employed in maintenance, you’re responsible for keeping control systems operating properly. If you’re employed in technical sales, you assess the needs of the customer and supply equipment to meet those needs. To be job-ready as soon as possible, you can participate in paid co-op placements while your employer and campus representative monitor your progress. The first year of training introduces you to industrial control technology. Some courses are common and may be used as credit courses for other technology options. In the second and third years, you take more advanced courses. These may involve writing specifications for the equipment required, selecting the equipment to be purchased, and ensuring that after installation the equipment is working properly and meets the requirements of the system.
