This program provides an opportunity to get the skills needed to work as a community disability support worker. In this field you help support individuals to live full and rich lives and promote their full citizenship.
This is a challenging and rewarding program that prepares you with the knowledge and skills to assist in assessing, designing, implementing, monitoring, and modifying behavioural interventions to meet a variety of client needs including, but not limited to, those on the autism spectrum.
Addictions support professionals help individuals, families and groups affected by harmful involvement with alcohol, drugs, gambling and other addictive behaviours. Working as part of a client-centred team with other professionals they design and implement strategies for dealing with addictions.
Developed by the UBC Institute for Aboriginal Health and UBC Continuing Studies, this award-winning certificate program is designed to help those who work in Aboriginal communities to increase the community’s capacity to deliver services, coordinate programs and promote the health of their people. The program expands its focus beyond health delivery to include environmental and other community health issues.

"This report provides a summary of the baseline information for a variety of indicators measuring economic development progress in Aboriginal communities in Atlantic Canada. Progress is reported primarily for the reference period 2001 to 2006. The input of Aboriginal experts (including Aboriginal community members) in focus groups and working group settings was used to identify and select a range of possible indicators that are potentially useful to Aboriginal communities, and to provide an interpretation of the data for those indicators."
The Occupational Health and Safety committee is an advisory team comprised of management and worker representatives whose primary role is to assist the Carpenters Millwrights College in creating and maintaining health and safety in the workplace. The committee is responsible for monitoring the health, safety and welfare of the workers, students, as well as other members entering the workplace. A current listing of OH&S Committee members are posted on bulletin boards throughout the College.
