First Nations Community Management Diploma [Yellowquill College]

This program prepares students to be able to perform management roles in a First Nation community by providing them with the required knowledge and skills for all management functions. It replaces the former Health Management, First Nation Social Development and First Nation Home & Community Care Management programs. The two-year diploma program requires the student to complete 20 core management courses plus two courses in the program specialization (Community Health, Social Development or Community Wellness) of the student’s choice.

Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager Certificate and Diploma [Yellowquill College]

This program prepares individuals to work in the financial management field and/or pursue a Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) accounting designation. A certificate in Aboriginal Financial Management is awarded upon successful completion of seven courses. The diploma program requires successful completion of an additional eight courses. The CAFM accounting designation is granted when diploma candidates pass the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association’s National Professional Examination. Guidelines for the accounting courses are within standards set by the CGA.

Indigenous Peoples Resource Management Program [University of Saskatchewan]

The Indigenous Peoples Resource Management Certificate (IPRM) is offered in partnership between the College of Agriculture and Bioresources, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) and National Aboriginal Land Managers Association (NALMA), to First Nations land managers from across Canada. Participants of the program receive a Certificate of Proficiency upon successful completion of six degree-level courses through a combination of face-to-face and home study distance format. Courses deal with the knowledge that indigenous land managers require for effective resource management.
