Environmental Technology [New Brunswick Community College, NBCC]

Publisher:
New Brunswick Community College

Combine your love for the environment with your love for technology in the Environmental Technology program. As an environmental technologist, you evaluate air, water, ground water and soil quality through sampling, monitoring, analysis, data collection and report writing within the environmental field. In the second year, you specialize in courses that develop the knowledge and skills necessary to operate laboratory, field and monitoring equipment and to apply scientific techniques in the assessment of land, water and air quality.

Power Engineering Technology (Co-op) [New Brunswick Community College, NBCC]

Publisher:
New Brunswick Community College

If you would like to be an integral part of planning and problem-solving in mills, power plants, oil production and many other industries, our Power Engineering Technology (Co-op) program is for you. This program will allow you to develop new engineering skills through lab-work in thermodynamics, applied mechanics and electro-technology. Combine on-the-job work experience with classroom-based instruction on analytical and diagnostic techniques applied to power engineering problem solving and the study of power plant management principles.

Encana Native Council Opportunities Fund (ENCOF) [Native Council of Nova Scotia, NCNS]

Publisher:
Native Council of Nova Scotia

Our goal: To provide opportunities for off-reserve Mi’kmaq Aboriginal Peoples for relevant and useful oil and gas training, education opportunities and insight into goods and services opportunities with the offshore oil and gas industry.

Civil Engineering [Memorial University of Newfoundland, MUN]

Publisher:
Memorial University of Newfoundland

Civil engineering is a broad term encompassing several distinct areas of specialization. It is also the oldest of the engineering professions. Included in the scope of civil engineering are the design, planning, managing and construction of highways, airports, harbours, dams, hydro development bridges, buildings, industrial plants, site remediation, pollution control and so much more.

Master of Applied Science in Oil & Gas Engineering [Memorial University of Newfoundland, MUN]

Publisher:
Memorial University of Newfoundland

The program will provide the latest technical knowledge on upstream, production, and downstream aspects of oil and gas engineering. The program will also address serious issues faced by the oil and gas industries, such as sustainable development, environmental protection, risk, reliability and safety. In addition, the program will cover drilling engineering, phase behavior of petroleum fluid, production engineering, compact process equipment design, offshore environmental operations, and natural gas engineering.

Marine Diesel Mechanic [Marine Institute]

Publisher:
Marine Institute

To become a professional marine diesel mechanic you must learn how to install, operate and maintain a variety of diesel engines. We offer workshop, classroom and work term experience that will prepare you for a career in the operation and maintenance of marine diesel engines and auxiliary equipment. You will work on marine vessels, offshore drilling installations or in the land-based industry servicing the marine and offshore industries.

Ocean Mapping [Marine Institute]

Publisher:
Marine Institute

The Marine Institute’s joint diploma/degree in Ocean Mapping produces outstanding graduates with solid technical skills to collect, manage, analyze and disseminate ocean data. Delve deep into the ocean to examine the ocean surface, the water column, the seabed and the seabed subsurface. You’ll train in marine surveying equipment, optical and acoustic remote sensing technologies, oceanographic instrumentation and geographic information systems.

Ocean Instrumentation [Marine Institute]

Publisher:
Marine Institute

Ocean technology is a major driver of the oceans economy. Local companies are active not only in the offshore oil and gas sector, but have also expanded into international markets by developing and deploying innovative ocean technologies. Modern ships and offshore production rigs are equipped with instrumentation that enables the monitoring of all activities from a central control room. As well, ocean observation systems provide real-time information about ocean conditions or seismic activity.

Marine Environmental [Marine Institute]

Publisher:
Marine Institute

Be among the professionals who influence this new and rapidly growing sector of the marine industry. As a marine environmental technologist, you will develop environmentally sound projects and work to prevent and create responses to marine pollution or degradation. You will go from lakes to rivers, and coastal zones to the fragile offshore. You will be responsible for protecting the marine environment and developing solutions to manage our marine resources. You will gain hands-on experience as you search for smart solutions in the field, lab and boardroom.

Marine Engineering Systems Design [Marine Institute]

Publisher:
Marine Institute

You'll learn how to design all the piping and support systems that permit marine vehicles to operate safely and efficiently in harsh marine environments. You'll use the latest marine design software to specify, select and design such marine systems as firefighting, bilge and ballast, fuel oil, lube oil, HVAC, and more. We'll teach you to design and select propulsion systems from diesel engines and gas turbines to propellers and water jets. And, you will be able to choose among careers, at home or around the world.
